EXETER COLLEGE MARTIAL ARTS

EXETER COLLEGE MARTIAL ARTS

We run several programmes for Exeter College and its students.

Self defence course  - this is a one term certified course run  on Wednesday afternoons in the first

term of each year teaching basic self defence. On completion of a final exam many of the participants

join our full Jiu Jitsu enrichment programme. Classes are held at the Exeter Martial Arts gym.

Please contact us if you are interested in taking part in September (college students only)

The Jiu Jitsu club is one of the most popular enrichment activities in the college. Students embark on

learning effective and realistic self protection in a safe fun environment. We also have a leadership

programme whereby second year students can get involved in taking warm ups and teaching to small groups

which is not only great experience but also good for University applications and job CVs. Over the many

years we have run the programme we have had great results in both competitions and gradings.

Students who have gone on to travel abroad during gap years have found the knowledge they have

acquired is invaluable in keeping themselves safe in a whole variety of situations.

The Exeter College MMA academy is a full Exeter college sports academy. Students participate in a

comprehensive training schedule which has been designed to improve all aspects of their martial arts.

We have students from a variety of different martial arts backgrounds who find that their training in

MMA improves their skills and complements their other martial arts.

Over past years we have had students with backgrounds in Jiu Jitsu, Karate, Taekwondo,

Boxing, King Fu and Kickboxing - to name a few.

The academy is unique in further education in the south west and runs in partnership with Exeter Martial Arts.
