Our first Elite BJJ and Sub Grappling tournament was in March 2012. Braulio Estima BJJ purple belt and SMRTJ grappling champion Kamran Ali was the refreee to a great tournament with fighters from Exeter to his team gym in Birmingham to London. Kamran said 'I very impressed with the standard of the Exeter team'. Gold Medalist Eric and Liam go forward to the national comp the Hereford open later in the month with Jacob fighting to remain the top Light Heavy weight Amateur MMA fighter in the UK MMA league on 31st March,
Following the tournament Kamran taught a great no gi grappling seminar focusing on single and double leg takedowns into knee bars and leg locks.

Well done to the extere martial Arts commando challenge team
Paul Spencer, Rob Simpson, Mike Gawthorne, Rob Sandisson, Linzi Taylor, James Hill- reid, Brian Phillips, Shogo Miyakita and Ed Trend. They finished with a time of 1min 25 sec and came 2nd overall. We raised £1099 for the charity which was amazing. Paul and the team are now planning there entry for the 17k endurance race.
Congratulations go Tom Wakeham of the Thursday cadet class won the silver medal in the random attacks competitionat the BJJAGB all styles National Championship. We took a team of 4 Exeter Cadets, Tom plus Samuel Ryan, Enki Allan and Micheal Comerford. The cadets all competed in their first national level tournament in random attacks and the continous fighting events and did Exeter proud. They are all looking forward to their next chance to compete at National level and wil be training hard in the new sport jiu jits class which will start in June on Saturday mornings.

To celebrate our Dojo Anniversary this year we will be completing a family walk and having a picnic on route.The walk is 3.8 miles and takes in Castle Drogo & Sharp Tor from Fingle Bridge. Which has great views, well worth bringing a camera!
Please wear suitable footwear for a country walk and think about sun cream and a hat etc. Please bring your own picnic
The Exeter Juniors and Cadets Martial Arts tournament was a huge success with all the children enjoying an afternoon of competition and fun. All competiton from Sumo waza and Groundwork to the seniors Randori and of course the evere popular team dodge ball were keenly contested with good sportsmanship all round.
Were planning to hold this tournament bi annually now and are starting a sports jiu jitsu class on Saturday mornings (see sensei for details)
